A DREAM DATE IN POSITANO
Today I am sharing a postcard from earlier this year about a trip to Positano. For the longest time, I have pictured the Amalfi Coast as picturesque. I visited Amalfi in 2022 and as much as it was beautiful, it wasn’t the part of the coastline I had seen online.
There is something surreal about finally visiting the places that fill up your vision boards and your IG saved folders. But it often doesn’t happen in the way that you try to plan it. Often travel ends up providing sought after manifestations because you are so focused on other things that you let go of the pressure to have these perfect experiences so often they end up materialising.
The Amalfi Coast is just one of the places along the coastline, with places like Ravello and Positano proving slightly less touristic but still very similar to the Amalfi Coast. Positano is very steep and took us around 1hr and 15 minutes to reach by bus from Sorrento.
I had researched a little about the iconic brunch viewpoints that look down on the cliffside but every one was booked out for the months. It was going to be pretty impossible to get a window sided table for lunch overlooking the pastel coloured houses, so I just thought I’d have a nice wander and see where I ended up.
We had around half a day at leisure in the town, which unless you go to one of the beach clubs is plenty of time for a daytime down to Positano. I spent the first half of my morning grabbing an Italian coffee and perusing the shops and little art shops. Something about me is I love art, but I don’t know a lot about it. If you’re looking for become more knowledgeable in a certain area or merely have a spark for something, exploring it abroad can not only help you feel more confident, but it will continue to up level you to the version of yourself you want to be.
Imagine it, you’ll wandering through your favourite new corner of the world, already out of your comfort zone, and then exploring interests that your best self would do regularly. Talk about an up level.

I braved the steps of Positano to try and get some good photos of the cliffside. A very kind tourist took some lovely photos for me, but I still wanted some photos of the view from higher up. There was a little restaurant that to be honest with you looked closed, so I asked if I could just step in to take a photo.
This is where the magic happened, I asked what time there were opening.
Five minutes…
There were a few groups outside, so I waited, and they asked how many it was for to me. I was by myself, but the tables of two were right by the balcony, with a spellbinding view of the Cliffside I have saved to my vision boards countless times.
You know when you get those ‘pinch me’ moments in travel? This was one of them.
The two girls behind me were so sweet and we took photos of each other, and I had the most beautiful lemon risotto followed by a sorbet inside an actual lemon. I had manifested it.
The table, the view, the food, the vision board.
How?
I had let it go. Often I find with manifestation, it’s not until it happens that I realised I’d released the expectations. I wasn’t hell bent on getting that view. But it happened.
And sometimes it won’t work out the way you planned or wanted it to. My favourite quote of recent is this “it’s this or something better”. Just let that sink in for a second.
And I am so grateful to get the opportunity to travel both with my career and independently, but these experiences of manifestation are so possible for you.
And I had the most blissful time after walking the streets with my headphones in. Positano is absolutely one of the places you should definitely add to your love affair list of new destinations to discover. I cannot wait to head back to this region of the world, but this is your reminder to let go of the expectations and trust in the beauty of unexpected travel moments.
