Before I started working on cruise ships, I freelanced as a social media manager. I loved finding cheap city breaks – British Airways City Breaks are my go to. You don’t have to sacrifice too many days off here either! 

I also went interrailing last summer and I regularly stay in female hostel rooms to keep the costs down. I am so lucky to work abroad but I break down all the ways I save for travel here.

I have travelled to almost 50 countries but I have to rank Croatia as one of my favourite places in the world. Its capital is on my to do list, but Zadar, Split and especially Dubrovnik are all firm favourites.

I’ve been going on solo trips since 2019, and it takes time to become more confident with it! There are always going to be dangers travelling in any capacity, but as long as you trust your gut and plan your routes as much as possible, it massively decreases any threat levels.

If your friends at home aren’t in the position to travel, Facebook groups and Instagram communities can be a great place to find likeminded people! 

As cliche as it sounds, you’ll meet plenty of people on your solo travels, especially in hostels. It’s always best to remain slightly cautious when planning travels with people you’re not overly familiar with.
