the best solo day DATE
if you're not ready to travel
Solo date days may sound daunting to a lot of you. And it was to me when I first started. If you’re not ready to bite the bullet and try solo travel, I’ve created the perfect solo date day to help you step outside of your comfort zone.
It may not be as sunny, but hopefully you’ll experience a taste of what solo travel can offer.
morning:
7am-8am:
Wake up, I know it’s early but hear me out. If you would abroad you’d be straight out on that balcony, or down listening to the waves, right? Treat your solo day the same. Get up, grab a cuppa, sit outside, journal, stretch, whatever you fancy but get outside. If you don’t have a garden, open the window, just get fresh air in and start that solo date day right.
8-10am:
You’ve got two options here. 1) Get a cute outfit and grab coffee and a pastry for your fave spot. Or 2) make breakfast in, and get the cute outfit after.
main element:
Head to a city you don’t often go to, but you know a good amount about. You want it to feel like an escape, so try to avoid your normal town. There are three things I recommend doing on a solo date day, so try and do at least one.
Something artsy.
Whether that’s a craft or farmer’s market, a bookshop, a craft shop, or a homeware store. You want an element that is romantic as hell. Buy flowers, get inspo for your home decor, get a new crochet kit. Something that your favourite main character will do right before she means the morally grey main character.
Get food in a setting that feels half a step further than what you’d normally do.
If you cannot fathom the idea of eating in, grab takeaway and sit in the park on the grass with a book or a magazine. If you feel braver, eat in a cafe, or if you’re feeling full main character, sit down in a restaurant with your book and I promise you no one bats an eyelid. If they do they need to fill their calendar more. Having a book or a magazine is SUCH a good crutch for nerves instead of sitting scrolling on your phone.
Get yourself a little gift.
You’ve absolutely crushed your comfort zone. The more romanticised the better. Flowers wrapped in paper, a new skincare set, cute stationary, whatever your vibe is.
evening:
A bath or a pamper shower is the vibe.
Order JustEat, or cook your comfort food.
New fresh PJs, candle, pamper yourself girlie.
Because that’s the vibe we’re setting for ourselves in 2025.
